You can ask for your EDZO account and its personal data to be deleted at any time. You do not need to reinstall the app to do this.
Option 1: In the app
- Sign in to the EDZO app.
- Open the Profile tab.
- Under Privacy & support, tap Delete my account.
- Choose a reason, add a note if you want, and tap Request account deletion.
The same screen shows your request number and its status (Received, In review, Approved, Deleted).
Option 2: Without the app
Send an email to [email protected] with the subject "Delete my EDZO account". Include:
- your username
- the name of your school or college
- your role (student, parent, teacher or staff)
Send it from the email address your school has on record if you can. Otherwise we will confirm your identity with your school before acting. You can also ask your school office to raise the request for you.
What happens next
- Your school is told about the request. It may contact you to confirm it.
- Once approved, the deletion is carried out within 7 days. We aim to complete every request within 30 days of receiving it.
- If the request cannot be approved (for example the account must stay open while you are enrolled or employed), you will be told why.
What is deleted
- Your EDZO login: you can no longer sign in on the app or the web
- Your password, MPIN and all active sessions on every device
- The email address, phone number and profile photo stored on your login
- The link between your login and your student, guardian or staff record
What is kept, and for how long
Schools must keep some records by law, for example education, examination, attendance, fee and payroll records. These records belong to the school. They are kept for as long as the law and the school's record-keeping rules require, and then deleted. An audit record of the deletion request itself is kept for security and legal purposes. Contact your school office if you want to know more about the school records it keeps.
Parents and guardians: deleting a parent login does not delete your child's school record.
Delete some data without deleting the account
To ask for specific data to be corrected or deleted while keeping your account, write to [email protected] or contact your school office.
